We had a ton of fun this past week getting together with Ms. Maguire's third grade class, our reading buddies. On Thursday and Friday, we carved quite a few pumpkins and sorted the seeds. We discussed the life cycle of the pumpkin, with real life examples! On Friday, we read books with our buddies, discussed who the main character was and what the character looked like, and we decorated our pumpkin to look like the book's main character! We have to agree that all of the pumpkins turned out very neat! Take a look at Ms. Riplinger's class blog to read more about our fun days together and to see many pictures of the activities!
In September, both classes came together to celebrate and learn about America. We talked about what it means to be a hero and each group of buddies discussed how they can be heroes. The ideas that were written were amazing and both Ms. Maguire and Ms. Riplinger are so, so proud of the thoughts that were shared that day about heroes. Check back for pictures of this special day!
