But right after our very first spelling test.... We had a visit from our Reading Buddies in Ms. Maguire's Third Grade Class! YAY! Be sure to check out the "Reading Buddy" blog on our website to see all of the fun that we had!
Today was a VERY fun day! First, we took our very first spelling test (and we have a bunch of smarty pants in Room 117!)!

On Friday, August 16, all five first grade classes got together to celebrate the end of our first week of first grade! All of the students in first grade enjoyed a popsicle treat on the back lawn of Brodnicki School! When they were finished, they got to enjoy some free time with their friends in the other classes! What a fun day!
I don't know about you, but I was so excited (and nervous!) this morning for our first day of school! All first graders had a fantastic first day, and we all had a lot of fun! As one student put it, "Time flies when you're having fun", and boy, did today go by quickly! We played a fun game to get to know Ms. Riplinger, had music class, created a first day of school book, practiced writing our numbers, and read a book about the first day of school in first grade! Wow, that was a lot!
See pictures below that we took this morning on our first day of school! So excited for this school year! Hello first graders and first grade families! My name is Ms. Riplinger and I am so very excited to meet you all next week on our first day of school! We are going to have a fantastic year together, and we will be doing many fun things throughout the year!
Remember, our first day of school together is next Wednesday, August 14... I am so excited that I can't sleep! :) Please bring all of your school supplies on your first day of school, and please remember that our first day is a full day (8:15-2:30 PM). I can't wait to meet you all! Love, Ms. Riplinger |
